I've just tested a 2.6.8.1 kernel configured without sonic or ADB on the Quadra 650. With this kernel I am able to login via rlogin over the kinetics ethernet card. This kernel works okay except that the ESP (NCR53C9x) driver will ultimately barf, even when I coax it past the boot-time hang. (I guess I can't blame MacOS SCSI disk drivers any longer.) Below is the debug output. The last commands I ran were fsck -y, followed by sync, at which point the machine locked up. The good news is that it should work well enough to test those fixes for the sonic driver in the mac68k tree that never made it from 2.2 into 2.4 or 2.6. I'll follow up with some results, as time permits. -F Linux version 2.6.8.1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.4.1) #1 Sat Aug 28 0 2:42:27 EST 2004 Detected Macintosh model: 36 VIA1 at 50f00000 is a 6522 or clone VIA2 at 50f02000 is <6>a 6522 or clone Apple Macintosh Quadra 650 Built 1 zonelists Kernel command line: root=/dev/sdb4 ro init=/boot.sh debug=ser console=tty0 Killing onboard sonic...
