When using the package from db.debian.org it's now default that ~buildd is
in /var/lib/buildd, for whatever reason.
Because m68k usually uses /home/buildd for ages, since has been changed
apparently. Same goes for spice.
I think Matthias Urlichs will take appropriate action to this.
