Mac floppy drives are significantly different from standard PC floppy drives. You definititely need a Mac style floppy drive to replace the old one. For a CD drive, you can generally use any drive, but the Apple drivers for SCSI CD-ROM drives have a hard-coded list of acceptable drive models. There are third-party drivers available commercially to support any normal CD-ROM drive, and there is a hack for the Apple drivers to make it work on drives that aren't in the list.
