I don't think XFree86 version 4.x works on amifb at the moment. There used to be problems with the dynamic loader (but those may be fixed) and I'm pretty sure the afb framebuffer is broken. You might get it to work in depth 1. But that probably doesn't make you too happy. You could try installing the last 3.x version of XFree86, which did have working amifb support. Getting this fixed is still somewhere on my todo list, but there are too many other things on it ;-) Kind regards, Kars.
