Because floppies are supposed to be broken? I haven't used a floppy on my Amiga in ages, actually about a year ago I had to order DD floppies, because I stored all amiga floppies about 5000 miles from my Amiga. Yesterday, when linux-2.4.20 failed to write a new kernel to my Amiga partitions, I thought about writing the kernel to a floppy, but realized quickly it would not fit. And since nobody wrote a driver for the catweasel yet, I had to reboot three times to get the new kernel to the Amiga partition, just to find out that it does not boot... so IMHO floppies on Amiga are useless. Heck, I could not even write backups of my OS disks to those floppies and install from scratch after my two harddisks died simultaneously. I wish I could use flash media on the Amiga, like a USB reader/writer or a PCMCIA/CF adapter that I use on the Vaios... or somebody fixes affs for 2.4.x, or Amililo for 060.
