An odd return to the debian m68k-world for me.. Well.. I've been away for some time and have a lot to catch up on. However, installed the new woody-release that's on the debian ftp. -PART I- I made one mistake however, tinkered with the xfree86 config to make X work and I partly succeeded... the thing is, I forgot to remove xdm from init so now I'm a little in dead water. I get X to start but I just get a REALLY messed up screen where I can't see a thing. So.. I need to get a console up and I don't remember what key-combo that does that trick.. so I can remove xdm and not get X from start... Probably the xfree86 that is installed doesn't work properly but I'm set to try and fix that.. at least I get something now and that's a start. Don't know what causes the garbled screen though.. -PART II- Since I have aquired a (god help me) pc too I kind of thought I would put my A4k up to some good use. So, I'm thinking about letting it run linux from here on and do some work for the debian-m68k community. Maybe I should make a clean start and install everything from scratch again to do that? Please let me know what I need to do. Got it on a local network since I'm only allowed 1 IP by my provider. Networks isn't my backyard really so I kind of need some insight in how to make it accessible for those who need to.
