I once did this for my TT. First, the kernel-sources have to be patched,
then compiled. It takes a couple of hours (over night).

Copy the newly compiled kernel into the directory, where the
bootstrap-program resides (in a TOS-compatible partition of the
harddisk). Change the name of the old Linux kernel to whatever you think
is informative and rename the new one to vmlinux or whatever is written
in the bootargs file. Or as an alternative, change the kernel name in
the bootargs file to the name of the new kernel.

Best wishes,

Kerstin
