Hi all, Today I requested a debconf wiki account. In the sign-up form there is query about the user's involvement with debian and debconf.
While all that is good, what is not mentioned is that it needs minimum 15 words. It would be nice if somebody would add that bit too. I do understand that it's there to stop spam or/and automated bot sign-ups but it would be good if we have that. It is a minor annoyance. Another query - Could somebody share why is there a need for manual approval of accounts? From whatever little understanding I have garnered from editing Wikipedia and other wikis , if a bad actor wants to be in, there isn't much that can be done to stop her/im. The form only takes out casual bad actors, the real bad ones would not be easily caught. Looking forward to know. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com EB80 462B 08E1 A0DE A73A 2C2F 9F3D C7A4 E1C4 D2D8 _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
