Actually, it is Switzerland as a whole that only provides for the rich. It is complete nonsense to name Interlaken in that sentence. The hotels in Interlaken are no more or less expensive than the hotels around Le Camp. The only difference is that the hotels in Interlaken are walking distance, from Le Camp, 20 minute drive/40 minute bus. But they are all expensive, because it is Switzerland. > I cannot ignore the fact, that the recent complaints on the list where from > people who can afford hotels, fearing of missing their luxury. (And such > privacy as demanded is luxury IMO. Understandable luxury, but still.) The use of the word `luxury' is also out of place. It is also another unfortunate example of creating divisions within the group by belittling people's concerns. I've been to many conferences where they have successfully provided single and double rooms in student accommodation for prices that are less than the 60 CHF/person/day cost at Le Camp. Once again, you have singled out people with a preference for privacy rather than correctly identifying the real menace is Switzerland's high prices. I found one university venue just across the border in France where people can have private rooms for 25 EUR/night and meals at French prices. Total cost is way below what is being demanded by Le Camp. So please don't put down people with a preference for privacy or travel with their partner. _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
