Hi As discussed at the last meeting I drafted a mail to be sent out to all the addresses on the Debian consultants list. Unfortunately (for Debconf, not for me ;-) ) I'm going to be away until Monday late evening and I won't have time to send the mail. I have commited the text and the extracted list of addresses to the debconf-team SVN repository. So if anyone has some time to do this, feel free to just send the mail. It may even be better if the mail was sent from someone a bit more known for doing DebConf organisation and who can also better answer possible questions. My idea was to also attach the sponsoring brochure PDF from the website.
I took the text from the whiteboard [1] which has been reviewed by Moray and Nattie. I just added one sentence about how much money we still lack ($60'000) as we discussed on IRC. We are contacting you because you are on the Debian consultants list [1]. We would like to invite you to consider giving your financial support to this major Free Software conference. In addition to a full schedule of technical, social and policy talks, DebConf provides an opportunity for developers, contributors and other interested people to meet in person and work together more closely. It has taken place annually since 2000 in locations as varied as Scotland, Argentina, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
