Hi, In the interest of reducing my stress level, I find it necessary to take a several-day break from DebConf. Thus, after the end of my meeting with Hans in the next few hours (which I'm still planning to do if he ends up being free), I will mostly tune out DebConf stuff until Sunday when I'll rejoin things at the start of DebCamp. This means:
* I'll leave #debconf* and #*-nyc on IRC, but will still be reachable in urgent or non-DebConf-related situations via /msg and will still be in some other channels. * I'll filter ji...@debconf.org and debco...@lists.debconf.org into a folder to be read on Sunday, but will still be reachable in urgent or non-DebConf-related situations via my other email addresses (as well as phone, SMS, etc). * Even though I'll be participating again starting on Sunday, I don't think I should be one of the people who does an early-Monday-morning trip to Newark Airport, since stress + low sleep == bad. Biella, please find someone else; sounds like you have a good plan overall for that task. * If you need a DebConf-related SPI purchase before Sunday, contact Michael Schultheiss aka schul...@d.o or treasu...@spi-inc.org. * I won't be working on DebConf-related tasks until Sunday after I'm done with Hans today, except if I agree otherwise. Given that, here's a status update on everything I'm involved in: ** T-shirts are ordered and paid for. Gaby is working "_really_ hard" to get them done (and presumably shipped) today, and is aware of our timeline. Shipping is officially estimated at 3 to 7 days though is likely to be toward the lower end. I'll let Micah know when I get going for the day tomorrow when I what if anything I have heard from her about this by then. (There will be a suitable exception in my email filter.) If any communications are needed with her between then and Sunday, Micah can do it or find someone to do it. ** Pablo ordered the bags, with a nice graphic that I got Valessio to prepare. ** I got Keith up to speed on the banners situation, and he's quite close to ordering. The drafts that he and Valessio are working on are very good. ** I've mentioned the following things to bdale as things we would like for the in-kind portion of HP's sponsorship: 3 netbooks + 1 decent-to-good laptop for prizes for things like the BSP contest, 1 printer + extra ink/toner for front-desk use, less barebones VoIP phones than the ones we have now, and maybe walkie-talkies for on-site staff use if HP makes that kind of thing. There is NO guarantee that we will get all of this, as it depends on what is feasible within HP, but now someone else can keep the conversation moving in a timely fashion. ** After I'm done with Hans, any pre-DebCamp work on the TravelInfo or Welcome pages should be done by $not_me. I'm still happy to help during DebCamp and DebConf. ** If I forgot something that needs to be addressed before Sunday, let me know. Please everyone, stay relaxed, and see you Sunday! - Jimmy Kaplowitz ji...@debconf.org _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
