My experience from night-bus directly to ICN: I have a 36l backpack +
small backpack for hand luggage. I've seen way taller trunks than my
backpack easily stored inside the trunk space below the bus. The night
bus ride was comfortable (even if I did not felt asleep, but that's me
under such circumstances). The advantage was that I was able to join
formal dinner and I made it directly to ICN without any change. Thus
I can recommend it.
