The team is at a critical stage in planning and due to the high price of the Swiss franc and the general expensiveness of Switzerland, the budget is unlike anything seen before. Some people are optimistic about sponsorship, but for others, this has been a major cause for concern. There have been a number of discussions on the debconf-team list about cutting food, cutting travel sponsorship, cutting the DebCamp, cutting the free day, and potentially asking a larger portion of attendees to pay the professional fee: http://lists.debconf.org/lurker/list/debconf-team.en.html Yet at the end of the day, the local team wants to provide the DebConf that you want. Is the discussion going in the right direction? Do the numbers add up? Should the team start signing the contracts or should the proposal go back to the drawing board? Which of the two proposed venues (Interlaken or Vaumarcus) do you prefer?
