Hi.
I am resending this (with another question appended at the end) because
I think that my messages are not getting through.

Hi there, people.
As a continuation of what one should bring when coming to this
year's Debconf, I have some questions:
1 - What type of mains outlets will we use? I faintly remember having
read this one, but can't find it again. An A plug? B plug? [1][2]
Any other? And the voltage? 127V?

110-120V. Your adapter should be able to tolerate voltages 110-240.
Check the INPUT value on the back of any power adapter you will be
using, it must be written in tiny little letters on all electrical
devices. _If it says "220-240 only" then you will need a
voltage-converter or a new adapter_. You can find voltage-converters for
devices working in small power watts (up to 300 I'd say, which can
recharge your automatic tooth brush but certainly won't run an iron or a
hair dryer) in almost all drug stores in the US for something between
$15-$40 and they can be heavy or bulky to bring from overseas.
If you see INPUT 110-240 and do not need the voltage-thingy all you need
is a plug converter (or plug adapters some call it) and your device will
work fine but you will experience much shorter battery times, which
sucks but, well, give some take some. All power outlets are in type B,
type A is only used in some power extension cords. The plug that fits
type B outlet is grounded. Type A plug would fit in type B and work with
no problems as well; i.e even if the plug doesn't have the third pin it
works in type B. It is very likely that the electrical items you will
need to plug in won't have Europe grounded male plugs.
If your power plug is grounded you need something like this:

If your power plug is ungrounded something like this will suffice

I only included these links because the pictures were nice. I am not
suggesting you buy them online or anything like that. Try a local store
first, they are much less expansive if you buy them before you leave
(usually are sold for less than 10 cents each thanks to Chinese
manufacturers). And while you're at it you might want to get a spare
one; it's likely that someone will barrow yours and never bring it back.
Bon voyage!
PS: If your device says the input value must be _220-240V only please do
not use them with a plug-adapter without a voltage-converter_. You might
easily set the dorms on fire.
