Hi, I have been doing some research and ask for money quotes about renting buses for the leg Madrid-Cáceres and Cáceres-Madrid.
I asked quote to 4 companies, and I was not very succesful: - Two of them told me they were busy for that date (one of them told me something about bad time being holidays for most of their drivers). - A third one did not answer, I also tried by phone and nothing. - Finally, I got a quote for the same company that does the regular trips (avanzabus). In short, if we rent the bus for both ways it is 60 euros per peson and only one way 40 euros, and this is assuming we complete a 48 seat bus. Talking further with this man from the avanzabus company, he told me that if we have too much people wanting to get the bus in the 31th August we could rent a bus from them but we should ask 4-5 days in advance. Given that not too many people have set their travel data in penta [1], it is hard to do an estimation. For the arrival people, it seems people will arrive split between different days and different airports (mostly Lisbon and Madrid), so i do not think we will complete a 48 seat bus (not even 40). For the departure, renting a bus only for one way is about the double than the regular services and i do not think it is worth: - because of the work of try to complete a full bus - when for the same money you can go more comfortable by train buying the tickets on the very last day. - and for some people the rented bus schedule will mean spend all the day in the madrid airport.
