Dear Chen, I don't know whether an output of boundary IDs, cell IDs etc. is possible with the DataOut <https://dealii.org/current/doxygen/deal.II/classDataOut.html> class, but I am quite sure that GridOut <https://dealii.org/current/doxygen/deal.II/classGridOut.html> supports this feature.
