How hard would it be to first extend Step-57 to be non-steady, and then add
stabilization terms? My main concern is whether Newton iteration + FGMRES
approach remains the same.
I don't know how much work it will be to add a time dependence, but if you
treat the nonlinearity implicitly, and time discretized model will remain
nonlinear and needs to be solved with a Newton scheme or similar. The
appropriate solver for that system then remains FGMRES.
