Dear Wolfgang, I have an elasticity type problem; the horizontal displacement depends on (x,y) but the vertical component of the displacement doesn't depend on y. It's like it is 1.5 dimensional instead of 2. Because of this the variational formulation also has some simplifications. Best, Aycil.
