Rogerio, would it be possible to reproduce the segfault using gdb?
gdb /usr/sbin/dbmail-pop3d -D gdb> run wait.... until the crash gdb> bt and post the result of the backtrace (bt). Or better yet: make sure dbmail can produce a core-dump. When it does: gdb /usr/sbin/dbmail-pop3d /tmp/coredump gdb> where http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17965/generate-a-core-dump-in-linux On 29-10-14 15:21, Rogerio Pereira wrote: > Hi, > > I have detected segfaults in pop3 and imapd services in my dbmail 3.1.17 > (Debian 7) server. > > Logs in /var/log/kern.log: > > Oct 27 10:40:03 dbmail01 kernel: [21722970.963966] dbmail-pop3d[25341] > general protection ip:7fb8ad72b80a sp:7fff5bf5f768 error:0 in > libdbmail.so.0.0.0[7fb8ad6e7000+6b000] > Oct 27 11:16:30 dbmail01 kernel: [21725158.293150] dbmail-pop3d[25262]: > segfault at 1fb9 ip 00007f4f7e98e80a sp 00007fffbd2d7c78 error 4 in > libdbmail.so.0.0.0[7f4f7e94a000+6b000] > Oct 27 14:11:02 dbmail01 kernel: [21735629.206895] dbmail-pop3d[29032] > general protection ip:7fe0b4c8080a sp:7fffdf976aa8 error:0 in > libdbmail.so.0.0.0[7fe0b4c3c000+6b000] > Oct 27 14:17:50 dbmail01 kernel: [21736037.204306] pool[29043]: segfault > at 0 ip 00007f1c8471ce20 sp 00007f1c7e368c80 error 4 in > libzdb.so.9.0.2[7f1c84714000+1a000] > Oct 28 16:18:17 dbmail01 kernel: [21829660.233119] pool[23525]: segfault > at 0 ip 00007f1f0eb4de20 sp 00007f1f05f9f690 error 4 in > libzdb.so.9.0.2[7f1f0eb45000+1a000] > > Other posts mention that DoS attacks may be a reason for these crashes, > but I am already running APF/BFD/iptables to protect the server in realtime. > > Dbmail restart is needed in this case. > > Any clues? > > Sincerely. > > Rogerio > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > DBmail mailing list > DBmail@dbmail.org > http://mailman.fastxs.nl/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dbmail > -- ________________________________________________________________ Paul J Stevens pjstevns @ gmail, twitter, github, linkedin www.nfg.nl/i...@nfg.nl/+31.85.877.99.97 _______________________________________________ DBmail mailing list DBmail@dbmail.org http://mailman.fastxs.nl/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dbmail
