I have a similar problem, but with timsieved -- it seems that my problem is caused by monit checking the port (in case of timsieved i do not really care too much though and just restart it once per hour for good measure). Do you have anything that checks if your services are alive? If so: is it just a "connection open" test or a "proper" imap test ?
