Hello Paul and others,

I have a pretty serious issue with dbmail-lmtpd.

Dbmail is 2.3.6, MySQL is 5.1.50 and OS is Freebsd 8.something.

The problem is that lmtpd (and only lmtpd) keeps growing and growing in memory
usage. Usually after 2 or 3 days it's 2 or 3 GB big, the server runs out of
swap space thus Freebsd kills the lntpd process to avoid a system melt up.

The server is pretty low loaded. Maybe 5 domains with a TOTAL of approximately
45 mailboxes.

After the first times It happened I fought there may be a broken db or
something so I ran dbmail-util -ay various times in a row (6/7 times) and every
time it found someone broken, orphane messages and such, but after 7 maybe 8
consequent execution everything seemed to go ok and thus if I run it now it
doesn't report any problem any more. I also thought about any drive/innodb
issue so i run an optimize table on all the tables in the dbmail db (also to
generate a new .idb file), still the problem persists.

I dont't know, it seems like a bug to me, also because the server worked
perfectly for about one year and now in two days the process gets huge.

Is there any way i can investigate why lmtpd is taking all this memory? The
server is not very privacy-critical so, Paul if you are curious to investigate
deeper I can also give you ssh access to the machine.
