There's a new thread on this list about Mandriva keeping the max file size at 16GB. I think it's ext3. Check it and see if you're affected.

Before running the migrate script stop imap/smtp/lmtp/www, so nobody can change the database, then make a dump a the whole database.

Also backup mysql and dbmail conf files. Make sure your mysql supports InnoDB and you have enough free space. Like twice the size of data at least. When optimizing the db the size of the InnoDB data file can grow a lot.

Be ready to roll back (from backup) and have enough time (and coffee). Just in case it be nice to have the backup copied off the production box.

And a test upgrade is still the best thing to do first, also on a 64bit box.

I've never done a 2.0.x -> 2.2.x upgrade. But I've done 1.x -> 2.0.x and 1.x -> 2.0.x -> 2.2.x. Fortunately the upgrade from 2.0.x to 2.2.x doesn't take much time at all compared to when upgrading from 1.x.
