It's mainly an upstream (gmime) problem. A header like:
From: "=?iso-8859-1?Q?B=BA_V._F._Z=EAzere?=" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
will work just fine, but
From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?B=BA_V._F._Z=EAzere?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
will create all kinds of problems for gmime.
