Hey Paul:
Kmail has been working on SVN Trunk for about a week or so that I know
about. At first some folder contents went missing -- that lasted til I
cleaned out and rebuilt with fresh SVN -- I think 2073 not sure but wasn't
long ago. Latest is 2093 but also I currently have a build I froze at 2078.
This version of Kmail works great against 2078 although as usual Kmail is
not very ACL-adept. This is KMAIL from KDE 3.5 which is somewhat recent. I
am wondering about versions now. I also use 3.4 which is doing well. It's
fetching from two dev servers hourly monitor reports and general
(duplicates) admin traffic.
I did some big moves of mail from folder to folder -- Kmail/DBMail IMAP is
fast. All headers message blocks come across completely but its easy stuff.
All text. I'll keep it running for a few days and throw stuff at it from
time to time and see how Kmail behaves. BTW Eudora 7 is also working on
2093.
Lars: note: Maybe my dbmail-util runs were needed because of the multiple
version switching I was doing at the time. We had been switching back and
forth dbmail.conf files and version 2.0.x and 2.1.x. on the same database
for various other stuff now that I think of it. Skip that suggestion Lars
:o) I am not suffering insanity--I enjoy its every minute.
best...
Mike

Hi Lars:
LDAP auth (unstable branch only) appears to be broken for now and if I
recall correctly, Paul said he would be on that in due time.
I fixed it today. Forgot to dereference a pointer. I just resynced
svn-trunk with my git tree.
Add Kmail, Outllook Express, MS Office Outlook, Mozilla Mail,
eGroupWare and SM to the list Trunk is functioning with.
I personally verified OE, OO, Thunderbird and mutt today.
Is kmail working for you Mike? It gave me some grieve yesterday when I
started it up first time ever. It refused to re-authenticate after a
connection got dropped over a broken envelope response (grrr).
I fixed quite a few more issues with unescaped or incorrectly escaped
strings. Evolution is still giving me totally uninstructive errors on
rare occassions, so I'm unable to pinpoint the message that is causing
this. Is there any kind of debugging/tracing available in evolution?
Jorge sent me outlook traces that were *really* helpfull, and I could
really do with something like that.
So, I know there is still lurking /some/ problem in the envelope
response, but I haven't a clue as to where exactly at this point. I
fixed the main problems though, of that I'm certain. All testers, many
thanks.
Did you build from a clean svn of Trunk? I wonder, did you run the
dbmail-util -by routine? I found the latter cleared up 'invisible
folders/messages' issue in some mail clients.
That really doesn't make much sense though. Unless insertion is broken.
