Hi,

Which minimal PostgreSQL version can I use for DBMail?

I think pretty much any version of postgresql that's not really ancient will do.

dbmail sure doesn't exactly push the envelope on postgres' capabilities, and
afaik the libpq api has been very stable for some years now.

I had the 1.x series running on pg 7.2.x, and there were no issues that I remember. That's stable postgres from the time that debian woody froze, ca 2001 I think.

Since there are only a couple of forward incompatible changes in postgres and many administration and performance improvements, there's very little reason not to be running one of the last couple stable versions 7.4 or 8.0.
