My file is constructed.

>fetchmail -v -f /etc/fetchmailrc

This command returns no errors.  However, I don't get any feedback either.
I tried adding another -v, but I am getting no feedback.  An exit code of 0
is returned if more than one message is waiting.  But, how do I know for
sure that it worked.  How can I view for example in sa that these emails
made it to sa-learn?
