I am setting DBMail up with sendmail and have run into what I consider an odd problem: DBMail doesn't seem to recognize detail parts as a separate part of the address and gives me an "unknown user" when I try to use them.
DBMail 2.0.4, Sendmail 8.13.4, PostgreSQL 8.0.3 Configuring dbmail-smtp as my local mailer bypasses that problem as sendmail then covers the detail portion, but doing so means maintaining state information for the users in multiple locations, which is simply unacceptable for a production environment. In scanning the bug reports I'd noticed considerable work went on last year to getting useful detail handling, but the results I've seen now indicate that work didn't make it into the production code or is now broken. So basically, what's up with that? Do I need to run 2.1.x to get detail handling? I'm also trying to find a tool suitable for my users (not admins) to use to control their mailbox ACL's. -- Daniel Taylor
