Recently we moved all of our customers from our legacy email system to our dbmail setup. This resulted in about 16G of email being inserted into dbmail.
Everything seems to be going fine, however I'm very confused as to why I keep seeing NULL physmessages when I run the dbmail-util checks. Is this normal? I found this because all of a sudden it seemed that I had a lot of user calls with no username, no date messages in their boxes. I'm thinking these two items are related. I'd sure like to figure out how to prevent them from even getting into the system rather than constantly having to clean out several thousand. Another oddity that we found is that if you POPed the problem box (with the option of leave on server ON) dbmail would kill off the bogus messages and then everything was fine. I'll also take any advice on a better way (if any) to deal with such a large chunk of data in the database. For reference, I'm running dbmail-svn-1816 (the 2.0.4 version).
