Hello List, I have been investigating very seriously using dbmail for a new project I am working on. I was hoping some experienced users could give me some getting-started style pointers.
Essentially, I need to host about 200-250 e-mail accounts from a number of different domains, each with pop3 and smtp access. I am totally not interested in: 1. webmail 2. imap 3. groupware/etc. 4. spam filtering/anti-virus etc. What I am interested in is: 5. Not having any system accounts for mail users. I just can't have that in my current setup. 6. Having an easy to maintain and easy to admin system. I understand that I will need some more software than just dbmail. So my specific questions are: 1. What MTA do people recommend? Sendmail? qmail? I am looking for something simple, that will just work and be set. 2. What else do I need besides the mta and dbmail? Am I missing anything major? I hope someone can help, and thanks to all those who put together dbmail. My initial impression is that the code is tight, a quality stuff. Best Regards, Dan Heskett
