Hey All Basically I installed dbmail-mysql this weekend onto a server, and it seemed to go ok, no errors or anything
What I wanted to ask is, the startup scripts for dbmail-pop3d and dbmail-imapd ? Am I supposed to create symlinks to them ? i.e ln -s /usr/sbin/local/dbmail-pop3d /etc/init.d/dbmail-pop3d and ln -s /usr/sbin/local/dbmail-imapd /etc/init.d/dbmail-imapd ? Or what am I doing wrong ? Also in the /etc/dbmail.conf file, I noticed you have to specify that you need a smtp server for the bounced e-mails etc etc etc ? do I HAVE to install something like exim/qmail/postfix/sendmail, or cant I simply use the dbmail-smtp daemon ? Also if I do have to install one of these smtp servers(sendmail etc) does anyone have a good tutorial that I can read about it, the reason I am asking this is because, when I installed qmail this weekend, I noticed it had something called qmail-pop3d and qmail-imapd ? This got me a LITTLE worried so I removed everything about qmail? ANY help would be greatly appretiated !!!
