Oh, I see. The problem is that unicode does not include all necessary characters. Hopefully latin1 does. I'll give it a try.

To dbmail developers:
Storing messages in DBMS without converting them to the database encoding is not nice, because it is not possible to search database using SQL. Dbmail needs to fetch messages, convert them to the encoding of the search string, and then search. Are there any reasons to stick with this approach? What possible problems can appear in case dbmail will convert all messages to UNICODE, before storing them?
