Hi Jan,

Yes, my server does almost the same. The specific results I think depend on
the number of childs you have.

CPU states: 96.9% user, 3.1% system, 0.0% nice, 0.0% idle
Mem: 514476K total, 489608K used, 24868K free, 0K buffers
Swap: 1999832K total, 214468K used, 1785364K free, 67536K cached

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
17409 dbmail 25 0 1652 964 956 R 15.7 0.1 657:44 dbmail-pop3d
 7501 dbmail 25 0 1128 1096 956 R 15.1 0.2 0:04 dbmail-pop3d
27862 dbmail 25 0 1724 972 960 R 14.7 0.1 464:00 dbmail-pop3d
30299 dbmail 25 0 1264 1036 952 R 14.7 0.2 47:22 dbmail-pop3d
 5140 dbmail 25 0 1320 1288 956 R 14.7 0.2 4:35 dbmail-pop3d

Also, when I run my server with 5 childs it happens that one or all of them
hangs maybe once a day. When I make them 10 there seems to be no such
problem. I think I still have some tweeking to make with the RAM, esp.
regarding mysql. Maybe you should think in this direction.

Best regards,
Bobby
