Hi again all.

I was thinking (all run in terror!). Considering MySQL has a "read-only" table type that supports compression, would it make sense to offer the option of archiving a whole bunch of messages into a seperate table? I've heard that PostgreSQL has something similar.

It might allow a lot of places that keep all their mail from the year dot (one of my clients has users with 5 GB of mail each stored on our Cyrus IMAP server. Damned flakey thing it is too) while not having to constantly monitor their mail store and go through messy upgrades and, as a result, scheduled downtime for adding more space for mail.
