Thanks very much Jesse. Having skim read the man for pipe, it would seem like that is the solution, but having added "R" to my flags for the dbmail entry in master.cf, unfortunately I get exactly the same result. I have noticed however, regardless of whether I use the R flag or not, on one of the mail servers that I have tested forwarding to, the return-path does not show up when viewing the message in my mail client. I think this might have something to do with this one mail server running spamassassin. I'll have a look at the headers and log files a bit more carefully tomorrow. I'll also see if i can follow your tip a bit more carefully and try to read all of man pipe (not just the bit about R). Of course if anyone reading this list has had success using postfix+dbmail with with some addresses being forwarded to external mailboxes I'd love to hear how you've done it. Cheers,
