Sorry to post this without checking the archives, but the mailing lists site seems to be down again.
The source files in the "pgsql" directory have explicit paths to the PostgreSQL header files, so despite giving the correct local path to the "configure" command, compilation fails. The correct paths are being passed to the compiler, however, so it should simply be a matter of removing the path information from the .c files.
