I'd like to see this customizable. There are a few levels:
- Can deliver & receive, but not send (this is probably impossible without
authenticated SMTP)
- Can deliver but not retrieve (ie. prevent embarrassment - the results of
disabling the email account is initially only experienced by the user).
- Can not deliver or retrieve (ie. fully disabled)
