Hi All,
I decided to put the draft of the new dbmail manual online. All comment
is appreciated. It is not yet finished (the installation part is next
though, i'm hoping to put this in next weekend). It can be downloaded at
www.dbmail.org/dbmail_manual.pdf (right now it is about 17 pages, 300
Kb).
Marloes ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) is working on the new DBmail website which
should be up when we launch the 1.0 version. Her work will be in
progress at new.dbmail.org the next few weeks. If you have any
suggestions, please let us know. The site is based on the excellent
design of Henry van Meegen who unfortunately got hit by RSI (good luck
Henry).
1.0 is getting very close. Current code is very stable, imap has a few
compatibility issues that need to be sorted out and we're working hard
on the daemon / forking code to create a rock sollid service. I'll try
to finish up the installation guide for postfix / qmail / sendmail and
exim for both mysql and postgresql.
A little thing we noticed.. MySQL is in most cases slower than
Postgresql (DBmail makes good usages of advanced features of both
systems, however, Postgresql has more advanced features at this time).
Best regards,
Eelco
