My mistake. gmime-2.1.19 is in freebsd ports not openbsd.

Thanks for the quick reply. Above information may be of interest for
the wiki ?

As OpenBSD is out, what would be my next best bet. Debian, Fedora, or
other ? This is going to be a dedicated mail system for perhaps 5 users.

5 users with a moderate amount of email is a small installation that
will be happy anywhere. The question is which system you want to
maintain!

Well... my current mail system runs Gentoo, my firewall runs OpeBSD, I am typing this on an OSX laptop which is also BSD, at work I have CentOS and Solaris and in the past I have worked with Irix and HP- UX. I'm sure I left some out, but to me it's all unix (-like) so the system I want to maintain is the one with the best support for DBmail.

I would like to run at least one on OpenBSD because I like their firewall (pf) and want to create an all in one box for a friend. but for myself I set apart a dedicated box, so any os will do. If it's a system I haven't used yet it will be good experience!
