thanks to everybody who has helped with testing so far. as i expected some mail providers classify mail from the new host as spam. i just now installed an additional service on the server that implements "sender rewriting scheme" (srs), which might help a bit, but it's probably not enough. i suppose the best thing that helps is to train the spam detectors to not classify mails from the new host as spam. if you want to help out follow these steps:
