Thanks for the reply. I have not received any other reply about this, so it is
good to see that my post was seen.

I think you are correct about the stars and the outline shading. I wish they
were simpler graphics with no outlines at all - just grey and black.

Anyway, I sure hope this can be made to be easily customizable.

Hi there,

Pretty sure I saw some replies on this one and somehow unable to get my hands
on it just now but anyway, I’m replying as I’m feel the same way about the star
rating. I don’t think there different sizes though but it’s just a matter of
colours and background. When these colours are the same or close, the filled
star will appear only because it’s filled differently as the background, and
the border will be invisible, hence it looks smaller compared to the unrated
star with a border a different colour.

In the lighttable that’s fine, but as you hover an image, this behaviour kicks
in. The only other case I’ve noticed it is in the darkroom in the bottom ribbon
with thumbnails. In this case you don’t need to hover. When you do though you
have the same feeling of rated being smaller although you see the border being
white against a grey background. It’s just not enough contrast.

I’m sure this can be tweaked further for a more pleasing result.

Maybe this can even be done from the custom css rules from the preference menu
?

Thanks

I am using 3.4 on Windows 10 and I am bothered by the icon symbols used. The
unrated stars are large.  But the rated stars are very small although filled
in. When you see them side-by-side the rated stars appear to be so much smaller
that it suggests they should be the unrated symbols.

Is there any way to replace the rated symbols with alternatives by
reconfiguring the application in any way at runtime, as opposed to rebuilding
the app from source? For example, using CSS? I don't mind doing some work to
accomplish but I find the description of building from source for Windows to be
daunting.
