As I said I'm really loving Dt. There's a few areas where I feel it can be
improved. This following is one...

In order to see the differences between photos while in the Darkroom view, it's
important that the current photo is not removed from the display until the next
photo has loaded. I'm going to go further and say that the photo immediately
before and after the current photo should be added to the cache as a background
process, if its not in the cache already, but that's less important. A photo
should only be removed from the cache when the current photo is 4 photos away
from the current photo.

This caching functionality would apply to the histogram (and thumbnail?) also
to see the subtle differences between those too.

The other problem with showing a blank space is that when images are dark or
bright, flashing the blank space induces eye strain because the pupil must
dialate/contract to adjust for the constant brightness changes. Eye strain is
also caused by the loss of focus so the eye/brain must refocus. This is all a
drain on the user and affects my user experience.

Using a cache (memory/graphics card) may also reduce demands on the computer's
resources/ hard drive and extend its life a bit.

Currently, to see the differences between two images I take a screenshot of
each and cycle between them in the native photoviewer, but its a cumbersome
solution.

Am I making sense? Are there any problems with this kind of improvement?
