Hi,
It's the opposite. Default workflow is display-referred, so with base
curve by default. To test and check, just rename your darktable config
folder and start a fresh darktable.
So it's a mistake on release notes. I would add to that Aurélien, who
brought those new workflows, write workflows part of the 3.2 article and
describes that display-referred (with base curve) it's default workflow.
