Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa) LTS ships April 23, but it still only has Darktable 2.6.3 in the official repositories.
As an LTS (Long Term Support) it will be supported for 5 years (10 years for paid support). Doubt you want to be supporting new users on 2.6.3 next year and beyond? (Ubuntu rarely updates its repositories with major releases, only bug fixes, ie. darktable 3.0.1 - or even 3.0.0 - could get updated through to 3.0.9, but never 2.x to 3.x.) Ubuntu 20.04 went into Beta yesterday (4/3) with release on 4/23 following FinalFreeze and RC1 on 4/16. I'm only a beta tester (Ubuntu MATE), and just raising a flag. If 3.0.1 (or 3.0.0) has been submitted at your end and it is just not getting through, if you would give me some info to work on I'll see what I can make happen. (Ubuntu MATE includes darktable as a 1-click install.) A supplement problem is that running 2.6.3 when you have a 3.0.x db (eg. if upgrading Ubuntu to 20.04 in situ) results in a totally silent fail at load. Only if run from a terminal do you see the '... db is too new ..' message. ___________________________________________________________________________ darktable developer mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-dev+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
