I am a new user of darktable. I have installed darktable 3.0.0 on Windows 10. (See details below.) My problem is that captured images are “not available”, and cannot be viewed in lighttable or anywhere.

darktable  seems to run fine otherwise. I can use “live view” and see in darktable what the camera is seeing. When I click “capture image” the camera responds and the shutter clicks. Image information is stored in a folder on the computer (Darktables$(YEAR)1230_capture job). In the folder are image files:

20191230_0001.jpg                        3,758 KB

20191230_0001.jpg.xmp              1 KB

These files appear to be corrupt, and none of my programs for viewing jpeg files can open them. darktable says they are “not available”. Gimp 2.10.10 cannot open the files.

I have tried uninstalling darktable 3.0.0 and installing 2.6.3, but that installation would not run. I then re-installed 3.0.0, but it still produces the same results.

My system is the following:

  • Windows 10, latest build (19041)
  • darktable 3.0.0
  • Canon Rebel T3i
  • Zadig 2.4 downloaded and used to install driver for T3i (WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385))

I would appreciate any help you can offer.
