hello darktable DEVs, I see strange behavior of my darktable. After upgrade to Fedora 30, darktable is using single cpu only during export. I downgraded / reinstalled Fedora few times and I am pretty sure that this change in behavior is strictly related to upgrading to Fedora 30.
This is what I see in "top" output: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 12678 robak 20 0 3415280 1,9g 58396 S 100,0 3,0 3:46.83 darktable Before upgrade (using Fedora 29) I could easily see darktable using up to 900% CPU (I am using 6core/12HT xeon E5-1650 workstation) Depending on Picture, export of single image can take from 3 to 40sec. Following is perf log, clearly showing that one CPU is used. 260,231232 [dev] took 0,335 secs (0,339 CPU) to load the image. 260,305029 [export] creating pixelpipe took 0,073 secs (0,125 CPU) 260,305096 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,000 secs (0,000 CPU) initing base buffer [export] 260,372658 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,068 secs (0,036 CPU) processed `raw black/white point' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 260,432546 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,060 secs (0,036 CPU) processed `white balance' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 260,449788 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,017 secs (0,017 CPU) processed `highlight reconstruction' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 261,297868 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,848 secs (0,701 CPU) processed `demosaic' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 261,608219 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,310 secs (0,218 CPU) processed `base curve' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 274,843721 [dev_pixelpipe] took 13,235 secs (12,462 CPU) processed `haze removal' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 275,301330 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,458 secs (0,456 CPU) processed `input color profile' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 297,907365 [dev_pixelpipe] took 22,606 secs (21,420 CPU) processed `equalizer' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 298,214014 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,307 secs (0,306 CPU) processed `contrast brightness saturation' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 298,738621 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,525 secs (0,523 CPU) processed `output color profile' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 298,855247 [dev_pixelpipe] took 0,117 secs (0,116 CPU) processed `gamma' on CPU, blended on CPU [export] 298,855271 [dev_process_export] pixel pipeline processing took 38,550 secs (36,292 CPU) [export_job] exported to `/home/robak/Pictures/2018-11-24-do_wyswietlenia/darktable_exported/DSC_4973_05.jpg' I did tried changing core option "number of background threads" to >=10. I did tried to start with "darktable -t 10". No change in behavior. What else I can check? The export of directory that used to take ~2min is taking >15 min now. regards, Rafał ___________________________________________________________________________ darktable developer mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-dev+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
