similar problems here. Background: I am running a bleeding edge
darktable from git master that has been patched with some experimental
module (which will never make it into main). I compile darktable once a
week or so.
Solution to get darktable running again was:
* restore backup (database, config files, and touched xmp files which
have been screwed-up during unsuccessful database conversion and earlier
attempts to fix the issue)
* compile and install darktable 2.4.1
* start and close darktable
* update sources of the custom module to be compatible with recent
changes in darktable git master
* compile and install latest darktable git master (which I patched with
the mentioned custom module)
Regarding the custom module, I am on my own of course. However, I
wonder: does the database conversion require that users migrate from
2.6.1 when 2.8 will be released?
