Hello Alexander,
I'm using Mint 18.3, albeit with Cinnamon.
This is the output of darktable-cmstest
darktable-cmstest version 2.5.0+309~g6fe1d0f
this executable was built with colord support enabled
darktable itself was built with colord support enabled
primary CRTC is at CRTC 0
CRTC for screen 0 CRTC 1 has no mode or no output, skipping
CRTC for screen 0 CRTC 2 has no mode or no output, skipping
CRTC for screen 0 CRTC 3 has no mode or no output, skipping
DVI-0 the X atom and colord returned the same profile
X atom: _ICC_PROFILE (740688 bytes)
description: U2412M 2017-11-08 D6500 2.2 VF-S XYZLUT+MTX
colord: "/var/lib/colord/icc/U2412M 2017-11-08 D6500 2.2 VF-S
XYZLUT+MTX.icc"
description: U2412M 2017-11-08 D6500 2.2 VF-S XYZLUT+MTX
Your system seems to be correctly configured
Seem to remember that I had to use displayCal to install one profile and
'Colour' under system settings to set up the other.
darktable (git master) is set to use colord, under GUI Settings, method
to use for getting the display profile.
All seem to work fine here and darktable remembers the settings.

Hello
My OS uses Mate, not Cinnamon, but I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe
Darktable should remember the last used file?

Hello,
it looks like neither colord nor the X11 atom hold your display profile.
AFAIK Cinnamon doesn't have built-in Color Management.
cheers,
Simon

Better check your system setup
- some monitors lacked a profile
You may experience inconsistent color rendition between color managed
applications
Geeqie determines correct profile without problems. GIMP seems not to
have problems too.

Hello
Darktable can't determine automatically my monitor profile. The OS is
Mint 18.3 x64, the profile is loaded by DisplayCal program (it uses
argyll). Darktable writes "monitor profile", but it seems it uses
sRGB
(the view is the same). I can select the correct profile manually
(it is
placed in the proper darktable directory), but it has to be dome by
hands after each program run.
What's the output of darktable-cmstest and what version of darktable
are you
using?

Alexander Rabtchevich
Tobias
