Hi - Love Darktable--thanks for a great product!
As you are likely aware, Sony is now shipping the third version of the popular a7r series (the a7r III). Since it has been some time since a new version of Darktable has been released, I assume a new version maybe approaching the beta stage? I've been working fanatically, to come up with a way to get Sony a7rIII RAW samples submitted to raw.pixls.us, so support will be included in any new release of Darktable that may be in the pipeline. I've made requests on an a7rIII user list on Facebook asking someone to take the time to submit samples to raw.pixls.us. So far, I've had no luck. A friend preordered the camera, when it was first announced, so he should be getting his soon. When he does, I'll be able to get the necessary samples uploaded to raw.pixls.us. The camera has been shipping elsewhere in the world and is only now beginning to ship in the U.S., so it still may be several weeks before I'll be able to submit the samples. By all accounts, the a7rIII is selling very well, with many Nikon and Canon DSLR users making the jump to mirrorless. And, of course, many a7rII users upgrading to the new a7rIII as well. I'm just hoping that if a new version of Darktable is in the pipeline that it will include support for the new a7rIII. Whatever the case, be it known that I will get a7rIII samples upload to raw.pixls.us as soon as I'm able, which should be within the next several weeks.
