I have the same problem and the same compiler version from Mint 18.2.

I see.
While i can confirm the issue, i believe this is gcc bug,
because this works in gcc 4.9, 6 and 7 (and clang).
Please report it to your distribution.
Any chance you could simply use another compiler? :)
