Answer is a little late as I hadn't much time to keep up with the list in the last month, sorry... But: gentoo is not thinking, you are not to install graphicsmagick and imagemagick on the same system! you just cannot have the USE-Flag "imagemagick" enabled for graphicsmagick, when you want to install imagemagick next to it..
